More Car Break-Ins Reported

Vehicle break-ins continued near the Centennial Trail this week.

Two cars were broken into Tuesday afternoon at the Harvard Road trail head.

There have been 41 vehicle break-ins since June 1 along the Centennial Trail, according to a list provided by the Sheriff’s office.

Most commonly stolen are purses, wallets, bags, cameras and fishing equipment.

The two most recent break-ins occurred late Tuesday afternoon. The victims told Sheriff’s deputies they’d met at the Harvard Road trail head and ridden their bikes along the trails.

When they got back, both cars had been broken into. One vehicle had a duffle bag stolen; the other had the window broken. Nothing was taken.

The Sheriff’s office is looking for more information on a man seen in the parking lot at the time of the thefts. The possible suspect is described as a white male about 25 with brown hair, tattooed arms and a broken front tooth. The suspect was sitting in a black 1980s-model Ford Mustang, according to the Sheriff’s office report.
