Robber Strikes Spokane Restaurant

From Staff Reports

A man had several drinks before robbing the Chic-A-Ria restaurant, 1812 W. Francis, just before midnight Tuesday, according to Spokane police.

The man ordered the drinks in the lounge and after about 30 minutes, called the bartender over and handed him a large envelope. He told the bartender to give him the money.

When the bartender hesitated and asked him what he said, the man repeated it and showed him the butt of a handgun in his waistband, according to police. The employee placed money from the cash register in the envelope and the man took it and ran.

The robber was described as white, in his 40s, wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses and a button shirt over a T-shirt. Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
