Fund-Raiser Will Help Send Churches’ Youths To Camp

Heritage Congregational Church is hosting a Spring Fling sock hop and ice cream social Saturday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The family event will also feature face painting and carnival games.

A car will also be auctioned off during the evening, and a playhouse will be raffled off.

The event is sponsored by the youth groups of Heritage Congregational, Hamblen Park Presbyterian and Manito Presbyterian. Proceeds from the event will be used to send youths to summer camp.

Admission is $2 at the door.

Heritage Congregational is located at 1801 E. 29th.

Covenant Capers planned Sunday

The fourth annual Covenant Capers talent show begins at 6 p.m. Sunday at Covenant Christian Church, 5616 S. Palouse Highway. Over a dozen members of the church, including the pastor, will take the stage to show off their talents.

The event is free.

Cathedral begins summer schedule

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist has begun its summer worship schedule.

Services are now offered at 8 and 10 a.m. each Sunday. There will be child care available during the 10 a.m. service only.

The daily Eucharist held at 12:15 p.m. each weekday has been discontinued for the summer. The daily morning prayer at 8:45 a.m. every weekday will continue.
