Trio Arrested After Traffic Stop
Spokane police arrested three people in a car at Second and Florida about midnight Saturday after finding a gun and drugs, police spokesman Dick Cottam said.
At 11:30 p.m. officers stopped the vehicle for a traffic infraction and alleged the driver, 37-year-old William McBride of Tekoa, Wash., had marijuana in his possession and was the owner of a handgun, Cottam said. The gun was in the possession of 24-year-old Allison McLean of Rockford, Wash., Cottam said.
McLean also was found to be carrying crack cocaine and marijuana. When McLean was booked into jail, she was found to be concealing methamphetamine and more crack, Cottam said.
The third arrest was a 16-year-old boy from Spokane who was carrying a set of brass knuckles. He was cited for carrying a dangerous weapon. A fourth person in the car was not held.
Theater sitter arrested
Police arrested a man found sitting in a seat at the Fox Theater at 12:45 a.m. May 22 after officers responded to an alarm at the building, Cottam said. Officers found an open door on the south side of the structure.
When the officers entered the theater with a police dog, they spotted a man sitting in the back of the auditorium, Cottam said. The man was identified as 60-year-old James Fredrick Ross of Redmond, Wash. He was taken into custody, and police found a folding knife in his pocket along with a small bottle of whiskey.
Ross asked officers to take off his handcuffs so he could help them search the theater. Police declined his help, Cottam said.
A theater manager said nothing appeared to be missing. Ross was booked into jail on a burglary charge.
