Hiker Falls To Her Death

A woman hiking with friends on Mount Hood fell to her death, the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office said.

The victim was identified as Diana Kornet, 29, of Portland.

The woman fell near the summit of Elliott Glacier at about 9,000 feet elevation. One of her companions called 911.

Authorities are investigating how the accident occurred.
