Patrick Sullivan Cataldo, Idaho
Memorial service for Patrick Lyle Sullivan, 34, will be today at 2 p.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sullivan, who was born in Munich, Germany, died Thursday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Cataldo.
He graduated from Immaculata Catholic School in Leavenworth, Kan., and had served as an altar boy.
Mr. Sullivan moved to the Silver Valley in 1985 and was a self-employed carpet layer and tile installer.
He participated in bowling, skiing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Judy Sullivan of Cataldo; a sister, Rochelle Pratt of Missouri; several aunts and one nephew.
Donald Doty Colfax, Wash.
Memorial service for Donald G. Doty, 69, is planned for 1:30 p.m. today at Community Bible Church in Colfax. Private burial was held at Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Doty, a lifetime Colfax resident, died Thursday.
He graduated from Colfax High School in 1948 and married Dee Ackerman in 1951.
Mr. Doty served in the National Guard for eight years. He was a farmer in the Colfax area, and in 1993 he moved into Colfax.
He was a member of Community Bible Church and served on the church board. He also was a board member of the Soil Conservation District for many years.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Steve Doty of Spokane, Kevin Doty of Colfax and Doug Doty of Asotin, Wash.; four brothers, Pat Doty of Portland, Dan Doty of California, Bob Doty of Davis, Calif., and Mike Doty of Maine; three sisters, Ann Stevens of Spokane, Cheryl Doty of Benton City, Wash., and Margaret Hilty of Colorado; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Bible Church or Hospice of Whitman County.
Philip Austin Spokane
Service for Philip Austin, 77, will be held at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Elk, Mr. Austin died last Monday.
He graduated from Mead High School and Eastern Washington University.
Mr. Austin was a logistics manager in the Marine Corps and retired after 27 years. He served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
His wife, Milly, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Austin of Everett and Karen Freemire of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Nellie Long, and a brother, Donald Austin, both of Spokane.
Charles Vincent Sandpoint
Private service for Charles E. “Chuck” Vincent, 62, will be held at a later date. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vincent, who was born in Casper, Wyo., died Wednesday.
He had lived in the Twin Falls, Idaho, area and worked for Ullman Construction Co. for nearly 20 years before moving to Sandpoint in 1976.
Mr. Vincent had remodeled various buildings in the area before establishing Vincent Construction Co. in 1981. He retired from the construction business in 1995.
He was a member of the Sandpoint Elks Lodge and was active in hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Alta; a son, Curtis Vincent of Sandpoint; four daughters, Lori Eddings, Cherie Moore and Janine Lichty, all of Sagle, Idaho, and Melinda Hoekema of Newman Lake, Wash.
Olga (Walen) Lisoski Spokane
Memorial service for Olga Agnes (Walen) Lisoski, 91, will be at 11 a.m Wednesday at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. O’Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls, Mont. is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lisoski, who was born in Havre, Mont., died Tuesday.
She graduated from Havre High School and received a teaching certificate from Holy Names College in Seattle.
In 1930 she married Frank Lisoski. She taught school in Lohman, Mont., for two years and at St. Jude’s in Havre for one year.
She moved to Spokane in 1966.
Her husband died in 1981.
Mrs. Lisoski was a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary 166 in Havre.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Willingham of Great Falls, Mont.; a son, Bob Walen of Havre; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Beverly Cambern Spokane
Memorial service for Beverly T. Cambern, 89, is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mrs. Cambern died Thursday.
She had lived in Pismo Beach, Calif., Seattle, Sun City, Ariz., and Kalispell, Mont., before returning to Spokane in 1984.
Mrs. Cambern was a homemaker. She lived at Fairwood Retirement Village for the past 13 years.
She was a member of and held various offices in the Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She also was active in Whitworth Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Charles Powell in 1970 and Clifford Cambern in 1988.
Mrs. Cambern is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Powell of Helena; a son, Rod Powell of Spokane; three grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
Norman Ulrich Coeur d’Alene
Graveside service for Norman Ripley Ulrich, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ulrich, who died Monday, was born in Rock Falls, Ill.
He attended schools in Rock Falls and then served with the Navy during the Korean War.
In 1961 he married Frances Beckman. They lived in Illinois and then Bend, Ore., before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1965. They divorced in 1982.
He was an electrician at the Bunker Hill and Sunshine mines and was a survivor of the 1972 Sunshine Mine disaster.
Mr. Ulrich later worked construction in the Coeur d’Alene and Spokane areas until retiring in 1999.
He was a western water color artist and was active in fishing and rock collecting.
Survivors include two sons, David Ulrich of Seattle and Randall Ulrich of Post Falls; three daughters, Robin LaFountain of Spokane, Tonia Ulrich of Coeur d’Alene and Christina Ulrich of Rathdrum, Idaho; his mother, Margaret Ulrich of Hayden, Idaho; three brothers, Joel Ulrich of Tucson, Ariz., Jerry Ulrich of Hayden and Steven Ulrich of Post Falls; a sister, Barbara Henson of Denver; and three grandchildren.
Harold Stevens Cheney
Memorial service for Harold K. Stevens, 88, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cheney United Methodist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stevens, who was born in Spokane, died May 29.
He graduated in 1930 from Hillyard High School and received a teaching certificate from Cheney Normal School in 1934. He received a master’s degree in drama from Northwestern University in 1939, and a doctorate in drama from the University of Denver in 1954.
Mr. Stevens taught school in Edwall, Wash., and Colville, Wash., before serving in the signal corps from 1943 to 1945. He served in Seattle and Alaska.
He began teaching at Eastern Washington University in 1946 and taught speech and drama. He also was the chairman of the Drama Department, Dean of Arts and Letters and chaired the Faculty Senate and the Lecture and Concert series. He was involved in the design of the current drama building, and the green room is named in his honor. He retired from EWU in 1976.
Mr. Stevens was a member of the Cheney Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jean; a son, Mark Stevens of Eugene, Ore.; two daughters, Kathy Kurtz of Cheney and Peggy Lewis of Mead; a brother, Ralph Stevens of Seattle; a sister, Gloria Timm of Port Angeles, Wash.; and four granddaughters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cheney Care Center or Cheney United Methodist Church Organ fund.
Emma Job Post Falls
No service will be held for Emma Job, 87, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Job, who died Wednesday, was born in Tappen, N.D.
She was a schoolteacher in the Washington cities of Oroville and Marysville, before retiring in the mid1980s. She later lived in Missoula.
Miss Job moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1992 and was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Lydia Maloney of Spanaway, Wash., Esther Christensen of Coeur d’Alene, Helen Ebel of Bismarck, N.D., and Gladyce Bowler of Hayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean Stevenson Lind, Wash.
Private graveside service for Jean I. Stevenson, 72, will be today at Lind Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stevenson, who was born in London, died Wednesday.
She grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. She held a position in Scotland Yard and worked in the investigative branch of unsolved crimes.
She moved to Spokane in 1952 and married James Stevenson that year. She graduated from Kinman School of Business.
She worked for The Cresent department store for many years before moving to Lind in 1967 with her husband. They owned and operated two family grocery stores there, Carlock Grocery, and later Harry Casper Grocery.
Her husband died in 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Rob Stevenson of Spokane and Dale Stevenson of Lind; a daughter, Marei Fitzpatrick of Mead; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ritzville Pet Rescue or to Lind Assembly of God Church.
Howard `Pat’ Grewell Ritzville, Wash.
No service will be held for Howard N. “Pat” Grewell, 87, at his request. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Waitsburg, Wash., Mr. Grewell died May 27.
He graduated in 1931 from LaCrosse (Wash.) High School and then attended Washington State University for two years.
Mr. Grewell worked for a Texas oil company until 1939, and then moved to Spokane and worked for Allis Chalmer Machinery. He moved to Portland in 1941 and sold farm equipment for Caterpillar Machinery.
Mr. Grewell moved to Ritzville in 1955 and retired from the Ritzville Trading Co. in 1965.
He was a member of Ritzville Trinity Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Freda; a daughter, Sandra Swanson of Issaquah, Wash.; and two granddaughters.
