Remembering Birthday Easy For This Family
What are the odds that a mother, father and new baby would all have the same birthday? One in 133,225, to be exact.
Carrie Vernon turned 27 on May 25. Her husband, Bill, was 29. And baby made three when 6-pound, 2-ounce Emily arrived 10 days early at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
“Only one family in 133,225 three-person families would all have the same birthdays,” says Bill Owen, a professor in the actuarial science department at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.
The Vernons, who have been married for two years, are a bit in awe of their statistical accomplishment.
“It just happened,” Carrie says.
Bill calls it lucky.
“I think I’ll go out and buy Lotto tickets,” he says.
