Broken Paradox
The teenage garage band Broken Paradox features seven enthusiastic musicians playing mostly progressive metal music.
The seven-member group from Colville, Wash., includes Casey Musnecci, 16, lead vocals and guitar; Sarah Davis, 17, and Jessie Musnecci, 14, backup vocals; Mike Sconce, 18, lead guitar; Nathan Nielson, 19, bass guitar; Brandon Krull, 17, piano; and Ben Simpson, 16, drums.
Most of the group’s members are homeschooled and several are taking college courses through Running Start.
The group chose the name “Broken Paradox” because “Jesus was broken (on the cross), and the definition of paradox means that it doesn’t make sense at first, but turns out to have perfect meaning in the end, just like Jesus,” Casey Musnecci said.
The band began playing together as a way for members to kill time, but later decided to form as an official group, Casey Musnecci said.
At first, the band played familiar songs and now writes original pieces.
The members plan to continue playing music as long as God lets them, Casey Musnecci said.
“We plan on sticking together for quite a while,” he said. “I will continue in music as long as possible. I want to honor God.”
