Pony Express Delivery Suspends Operations
Pony Express Delivery Services, a privately held express courier service with 2,500 employees in 22 states, including 300 in Portland, has suspended operations.
The company, based in Atlanta but with primary operations in the West and Midwest, notified employees through e-mail late Friday that its operations would cease at the close of the business day.
“We’ve suspended operations. That’s all I can say, and I have no further information and no one to talk to you right now,” said a woman who answered the telephone at the company’s headquarters Monday. She declined to give her name.
Pony Express has an office at 1024 N. Ralph in Spokane. An employee who answered the phone there on Monday referred questions to the company’s national headquarters, but calls to that office got only a recorded message.
