Between 80 and 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled down an embankment off U.S. Highway 2 Tuesday morning when a semi-truck rolled on “Deadman’s Curve.”

The curve is at milepost 20, west of Sandpoint. The westbound semi-truck was carrying beauty bark. Emergency dispatchers received a call about the accident at 6:48 a.m. One lane of traffic was closed temporarily.

The Bonner County emergency services director, Bob Howard, said a hazardous materials contractor cleaned up the fuel spill.
