Motorcycle Crash Victim Is Identified

From Staff Reports

A 19-year-old woman killed in a motorcycle accident late Saturday has been identified as Sara Rae Pryor of Spokane.

Pryor had gone for a late-night motorcycle ride with 35-year-old Nicolet Orland Cline, a man she met at a friend’s house, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

As the pair traveled south on Hangman Valley Road from Hatch, the motorcycle swerved across the oncoming lane and left the roadway at about 65 mph, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The posted speed limit on the road is 45 mph.

The 1999 Yamaha hit a bank, became airborne and slammed into a large pine tree, the Sheriff’s Office said. Pryor, the passenger, was killed instantly.

Cline suffered a broken femur but was able to crawl roughly 25 feet to the road to summon help.

Both were wearing helmets. Cline was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not available Monday.
