Highway 195 Work To Delay Traffic
Traffic on U.S. Highway 195 will be restricted beginning in July for a repaving project from Spangle to Plaza.
Vehicles likely will have to stop and wait because the highway will be reduced to one lane of traffic, said Al Gilson, spokesman for the state Department of Transportation in Spokane.
The $1.6 million project involves grinding off the worn top layer of asphalt pavement and replacing it with a new skin of asphalt.
The job runs from the point where the Pullman highway narrows from four lanes to two lanes at Spangle. From there, it will extend 11 miles to the south.
“It will cause some delays,” Gilson said.
Pilot cars will be used to guide one-way traffic during parts of the job.
Work will last from four to six weeks.
