Fourth-quarter earnings at Nike Inc. rose 33 percent, meeting expectations.

Multifoods giant ConAgra Inc. reported a 14 percent increase in fourth-quarter earnings, meeting Wall Street expectations.

Conseco Inc. named Gary Wendt its new chairman and chief executive Thursday.

The average interest rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages climbed to 8.22 percent for the week ending June 29, up from 8.14 percent the previous week, according to a survey released by Freddie Mac, the mortgage company.
