Churches Schedule Services For Lent

Lent has begun, bringing with it a collection of weekly prayer sessions, worship services and fellowship opportunities. Some North Side churches are planning to host such weekly events.

Soup suppers and worship services are on the menu at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal.

Worship will begin at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday during March. Each service will be precede by a soup supper at 6:30 p.m.

All are welcome to attend. Call the church office at 487-4843 for more information.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, will host the Stations of the Cross each Friday at 6 p.m. during Lent.

Gonzaga choir gives concert

The Gonzaga University Choir will present a spring concert Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone.

It is titled “Mysteries and Miracles - A Musical Journey of Faith.”

The concert is free to the public, but a free will offering will be collected.

Book and rummage sale

Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport, will have its semi-annual book sale Friday and Saturday.

It will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

The sale will feature over 2,000 items, including books, sheet music, records, art, puzzles and more. A rummage sale will also run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It will include clothing, collectibles and household items.
