Wv Teacher Faces Misconduct Charges
A West Valley High School math teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave while allegations of inappropriate conduct are investigated.
Ray Riggin, head varsity baseball coach, has taught at West Valley for seven years. A female student told a high school counselor of concerns which, if proved accurate, mean the teacher behaved inappropriately, said West Valley Schools Superintendent Dave Smith.
A private investigator has been hired to gather information on the allegations, Smith said, adding, “that person will be in the school, talking with kids and, where appropriate, families.”
The matter also has been reported to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Smith said.
