14-Year-Old Arrested

A 15-year-old Millwood resident had minor injuries Monday after being slapped by a dirt bike rider.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 14-year-old Millwood boy after the incident.

The father of the injured boy called the Sheriff’s office after his son came home at approximately 5 p.m. with a mild concussion, swollen lips and loose teeth.

The boy told his father that he was walking in the 8000 block of East Marietta Avenue when a boy riding a dirt bike reached out and slapped him in the face. The rider was wearing a helmet and goggles.

A witness told deputies she recognized the boy riding the dirt bike and gave them an address in the 2400 block of North Park Road.

When deputies went to that home, the 14-year-old told them the 15-year-old had flipped him off, according to the sheriff’s report.

The 14-year-old was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault and another charge of reckless endangerment. He was released to the custody of his father.
