Paper’S Food Drive Under Way
Spokesman-Review carriers and volunteers collected 54,098 pounds of food Saturday, with more to come.
Food from the fourth annual Spokesman-Review food drive still had to be collected from drop-off points at area Albertson’s grocery stores, fire stations and the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls food banks.
The food drive is expected to net more than 60,000 pounds of nonperishable food. Spokesman-Review subscribers received a pink food-drive bag in their Wednesday newspaper. Carriers and volunteers collected the donations Saturday morning during newspaper deliveries.
Donations will go to the Spokane, Cheney, Medical Lake, Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene and Hayden Lake food banks.
