Police Hunting For Robber

Spokane police continue the hunt for a man who robbed an area restaurant at gunpoint last week.

A man walked into Sparky’s Firehouse Subs, 926 W. Indiana Ave., at about 4 p.m. Thursday and asked the cashier to give him a quarter in exchange for pennies, Spokane police spokesman Dick Cottam said.

When the employee opened the cash register, the man demanded she give him the money.

He then pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it to her head. She gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.

Another employee approached the man, who put the gun in his waistband, took the money and left.

Employees told police the man had entered with another man and a woman two hours earlier. The three had bought a drink for the woman, who appeared to be pregnant.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, 6-foot-3, 140-160 pounds.
