Five youths working a clean-up crew along a busy highway were killed Sunday afternoon when a speeding mini-van raced off of Interstate 15 and slammed into them. A sixth was critically injured.

The youths were among a group of 20 juvenile offenders who had been sentenced to work for the Clark County Youth Services Department.

The 22-year-old driver was transported to University Medical Center for minor injuries, then she was taken into custody and jailed for investigation of driving under the influence involving controlled substances and felony reckless driving.
