William Quarles Coeur d’Alene
Private service for William P. Quarles, 88, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Quarles, a lifetime Coeur d’Alene resident, died Thursday.
He attended school in Coeur d’Alene and served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Quarles returned to Coeur d’Alene after his military service and in 1950 married Florence Schierman. He operated Quarles Insurance Agency Co. from 1945 until retiring in 1976.
He also had worked as a deputy court clerk in Coeur d’Alene in the 1950s, and was a member of the Kootenai Masonic Lodge, the Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge and the Calam Shrine Temple in Lewiston.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; and several nieces and nephews, including Brent Schierman of Coeur d’Alene.
Christina Bourcy Loon Lake, Wash.
Service for Christina Jean (Jacobson) Bourcy, 55, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Loon Lake Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at the Loon Lake Cemetery. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mrs. Bourcy died Thursday from Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
She lived in Spokane most of her life and moved to Loon Lake in 1996.
Mrs. Bourcy was a homemaker and a member of Loon Lake Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Tommy; three sons, Jody, Scott and William Eldridge, all of San Diego; a daughter, Heidi Taylor of Spokane; a stepson, Ben Bourcy of Biloxi, Miss.; her parents, Ralph and Dona Jacobson of Spokane; a brother, Ralph Jacobson of Walla Walla; a sister, Linda Rucker of Usk, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
Dorothy (Collins) Haslett Spokane
Visitation for Dorothy L. (Collins) Haslett, 64, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
Mrs. Haslett, who was born in Stites, Idaho, died Friday.
She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for nearly 50 years.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Robert; three sons, Robert, Alan and Gary Haslett, all of Spokane; a daughter, Tammy Anderson of Spokane; two brothers, Jim Collins of Bayview, Idaho, and Dick Collins of Ontario, Ore.; three sisters, Carolyn Mitchell and Darlene Henry, both of Colbert, and Wanda Thor of Auburn, Wash.; five granchildren, five stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-greatgrandchildren.
Margaret Moore Kettle Falls, Wash.
Graveside service for Margaret F. Moore, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moore, who was born in Germany, died Thursday.
Her family moved to Spokane when she was a child and graduated from Central Valley High School in 1933.
She married Thomas Moore in 1935, and they moved to Kettle Falls in 1965.
Mrs. Moore worked in the housekeeping department at Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville.
She was a member of the Kettle Falls Senior Citizens.
Her husband died in 1980.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Moore of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Shirley Fabian of Freedricksburg, Va.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Martha (Schmick) Lust Colfax, Wash.
Service for Martha (Schmick) Lust, 89, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott, Wash. Burial will follow at the Endicott Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Endicott, Mrs. Lust died Wednesday.
She graduated from Endicott High School in 1928 and married Walter Lust in 1929.
Mrs. Lust and her husband lived and farmed on her parents homestead near Endicott and retired in 1975. They moved to Whitman Health and Rehab Center in Colfax last year.
Mrs. Lust was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott and the Endicott Multi-Flora Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Donald Lust of Spokane; a sister, Eunice Dunn of Spokane; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Alta Rowatt Spokane
Memorial service for Alta M. Rowatt, 79, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at the Pines Cemetery.
Born in Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Rowatt died Thursday.
She grew up in Benewah Valley near St. Maries. She married Glen Rowatt in 1937, and they later moved to Davenport, Wash. In 1951 they moved to the Spokane Valley.
Mrs. Rowatt was a homemaker.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Dan Rowatt of Spokane; three daughters, Glenda Mathews of Spokane, Pat McKee of Otis Orchards and Peggy Withers of Newport, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
