Hawks Have Way Too Much For Trojans
Post Falls had to see Jeremy McMillen for just five innings on Tuesday, but that was enough.
McMillen had three hits, including two home runs, and added five runs batted in during Lakeland’s fiveinning, 13-0 non-league baseball win at Post Falls.
Kevin Reese also homered for the Hawks. Mike Banks and Jason Thomas (2-0) combined to three-hit the Trojans.
In other non-league games, Jeremy Troumbley hit a two-run homer in the first and a three-run shot in the second, leading Priest River to a 24-4 win over visiting Cusick… . Andy Way went 3 for 4, with a double, and added four RBIs to guide Bonners Ferry to a 15-5 win over visiting Wallace.
Neal Litchfield had a bases-clearing triple and Jim Schmidt added four hits and three RBIs to lead Lewiston to a 14-8 win over visiting Moscow in the Border League. Moscow’s Trent Baysinger had three hits, including a three-run homer, and five RBIs.
Softball
Jessie Crocker’s one-out, bases-loaded triple to right field in the seventh inning lifted Moscow to a 4-2 win at Lewiston in the Border League. Cody Kinzinger earned the win and walked none.
Tammy Addington and Tiffany Holdahl both went 3 for 4 with an RBI, guiding St. Maries (5-0) to a 7-3 non-league win at Potlatch. Addington scored twice, and Holdahl had two stolen bases.
Washington softball
Megan Owen pitched a five-inning no-hitter, and University defeated visiting Rogers 10-0 in a Greater Spokane League game matching 1-0 teams.
Owen struck out seven and walked three. Vanessa Shelton went 3 for 4, with three runs batted in and two runs, and Jenni Shollenberger added two RBIs for the Titans.
Also in the league, Kaylene Fountain pitched a two-hitter, striking out 16, and added two RBIs to lead Lewis and Clark (1-0) to a 3-0 win at Gonzaga Prep (1-1). G-Prep’s April Skubinna pitched a four-hitter and struck out six… . Katie Hirst pitched a four-hitter and East Valley (1-1) scored in the seventh on a pair of errors during a 1-0 win over visiting North Central (0-1). NC’s Marie Erdahl pitched a three-hitter and allowed no walks. … Jessica Murray struck out seven and Dorthea Gooch had a two-run single in the fourth, leading Shadle Park (2-0) to a 6-2 win over visiting Ferris (0-2)… .
