Neighborhood Meetings

A consultant hired to design improvements to three South Side parks will hold a public meeting on Wednesday at Sacajawea Middle School cafeteria.

David Evans & Associates of Spokane will give a presentation on their design ideas for Manito, Grant and Comstock parks.

The meeting will run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. to hear public reaction and take comment on the consultant’s preliminary ideas.

Tennis court improvements are slated for Grant and Comstock parks. Manito Park will see changes to traffic flow and parking as well as improvements to the duck pond and conservatory.

The work is part of a $15 million bond issue approved by voters last September.

Manito/Cannon Hill Council

The Manito/Cannon Hill Neighborhood Council has a busy agenda at its meeting at Wilson School, 911 W. 25th, tonight at 7 p.m.

The neighborhood has been asked to select new play equipment for Cannon Hill Park from a master list of equipment provided by the Parks Department. The new play area is being financed by the park bond issue.

Also on the agenda is election of officers and a discussion of ways to improve traffic flow at 29th and Lincoln.
