Fugitive Arrested, Faces New Drug Charges

A 27-year-old West Plains man faces drug charges after deputies discovered methamphetamine and heroin while arresting him Wednesday evening on a charge of escape.

Garvey C. Parker, 10511 Ritchey Road, was booked into Spokane County Jail for the escape charge, an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance and two new charges for possessing drugs, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies spotted Parker riding in a car Wednesday night near the intersection of Eighth and Pines. After they stopped the car, Parker exited and reportedly dropped baggies containing meth and black tar heroin.
