Transient Faces Rape, Murder Charges

From Staff

A man raped and fatally stabbed a 40-year-old woman in her Federal Way, Wash., apartment, then cleaned up and cooked a dish of eggs and Canadian bacon before leaving, prosecutors said in court papers.

Roy Elexie Webbe was charged Tuesday with aggravated first-degree murder, rape, burglary and robbery in the death of Deborah Funk and an attack on another woman a few hours earlier.

Prosecutors contend that Webbe, a transient, should be held without bail on the aggravated murder charge, which carries the possibility of the death penalty.

Arraignment is scheduled today in King County Superior Court.

Federal Way police had arrested Webbe on April 26 on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender because he had not reported an address change.

Webbe told police then that he had a “twin” in Federal Way and denied being Webbe, police said.
