Strandberg, Gsl Final Four On Tap

The Strandberg Twilight Invitational at Central Valley on Saturday is the only area track meet with a mile run, which is held at sundown.

The girls pole vault kicks off the meet at 11:30 a.m., with other field events and running-event preliminaries starting at noon. Track finals start at 4:30. More than 20 schools have entered.

Shadle Park will try to win its first track championship in 25 years when the Highlanders play host to the Greater Spokane League boys track final four today. Shadle’s last track title was in 1975.

Defending champion University, Mt. Spokane and Mead round out the field. The meet will determine the top four in the GSL standings.

Field events begin at 4:30 p.m. and running events at 5.
