Pacific Lutheran University has received $20 million from two donors in the past two weeks, boosting the total to $65.7 million given for construction, renovation and endowment.

A gift of $12 million was received last week from an alumnus who asked not to be identified, and Don Morken, a member of the school’s board of trustees, and his family pledged $8 million. Morken, a 1960 graduate of PLU, is founder and president of Genesee Partners, an investment firm.

Part of the money will be used to build a center for learning and technology to house several departments and to emphasize the use of new technology in teaching, college President Loren Anderson said.

School officials and supporters began a campaign to raise $100 million two years ago and are about two-thirds of their way to that goal.
