Gonzaga, Whitworth Plan Commencements

Gonzaga University and Whitworth College will hold commencement ceremonies this weekend.

Leading off Gonzaga’s ceremonies will be the ROTC commissioning at 5 p.m. today in the Martin Centre on GU’s campus. Gonzaga’s Law School commencement begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Martin Centre, featuring Washington State Supreme Court Justice Barbara Madsen.

Charles T. Collins, a prominent figure in Washington state education, is the keynote speaker for GU’s graduate school ceremonies at 5 p.m. Saturday in Martin Centre. Phyllis Campbell, president of U.S. Bank of Washington and North Idaho, will be the featured speaker at Gonzaga’s undergraduate ceremony at 10 a.m. Sunday in the Spokane Arena.

Whitworth President William P. Robinson will speak at the graduate commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday in Whitworth’s Cowles Memorial Auditorium.

Whitworth’s undergraduate ceremony, scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday in the Spokane Arena, will feature Raja Tanas, a popular longtime professor in the college’s sociology department.
