Eastbound Argonne Off-Ramp Will Close For Repaving Work

It’ll be slow going for many Valley motorists next week and beyond.

A freeway off-ramp and several railroad crossings will be closed next week for construction.

Beginning Monday, the eastbound Argonne Road off-ramp on Interstate 90 (exit 287) will be closed for repaving. The Department of Transportation expects the off-ramp to reopen June 4.

The suggested detour will be the eastbound Broadway off-ramp.

The construction will not affect the eastbound Argonne on-ramp or through traffic, according to the DOT.

The Argonne ramp work might not slow down any through traffic, but lanes will continue to close during the upcoming months as I-90 widening work continues.

Next week, I-90 will be down to one lane eastbound at the Sprague interchange on Tuesday and Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Several Valley railroad crossings will also be under construction next week.

Union Pacific plans to upgrade four railroad crossings and replace wooden planks with concrete pads.

Harvard Road north of Euclid will be closed Monday. Montgomery Drive west of Pines will be closed Tuesday. Vista Road north of Trent will be closed Wednesday. Park Road north of Trent will be closed Thursday.

Each crossing will be closed for one day from 6 a.m.-4 p.m.
