I-90 Resurfacing To Restrict Lanes

From Staff

Interstate 90 resurfacing work in Idaho starts in earnest Sunday night, when crews begin cracking the concrete surface of the rutted roadway.

The Idaho Transportation Department is limiting work to nights, to keep driver disturbance down, officials say.

Work on the eastbound lanes is slated for 7 p.m. Sunday and will continue through Friday morning at 5:30. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph, with one lane of traffic closed.

Crews will start on the eastbound lanes between Coeur d’Alene and the state line, then begin on the westbound lanes in July. A blunt-edged blade will crack the surface. Then the old concrete will be used as base material for two overlays. Contractor Acme Materials and Construction expects to finish the $5.6 million project in October.
