Four Injured, One Critically, On Division

A compact car and a full-sized truck collided in the intersection of Division and Mission Sunday afternoon, sending four people to the hospital - one with apparently life-threatening injuries, a Spokane police spokesman said.

A tan Toyota Tercel traveling south on Division was hit in the left rear passenger area by a green Chevrolet Cheyenne going west on Mission, said spokesman Dick Cottam.

“Somebody ran a red light,” he said, adding that officers needed to complete their investigation before deciding which driver was to blame.

The four passengers in the Toyota were injured while the three people in the truck were not, Cottam said.

Division at Mission was closed for several hours while police measured skid marks and talked to witnesses.

The police did not release the names of anyone involved in the accident.
