Zane Wood Spokane
Memorial service for Zane A. Wood, 77, is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mr. Wood, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.
He graduated from Rogers High School and in 1942 joined the Navy, serving aboard on PBYs as a radio man during World War II.
In 1945 he was discharged from the military and married Merton “Mert” Coleman that year. He served in the Naval Reserves for three years.
He worked as a transmission man for the Pacific Bell Co. for 32 years and later worked for Sampson Ayers Music Co. repairing electronic organs.
Mr. Wood earned his amateur radio license at the age of 15 and was a member of the American Radio Relay League. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years; two daughters, Connie and Patricia; two sons, Andrew and Elton; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or The Heart Institute of Spokane.
Lily Dolan Spokane
Funeral service for Lily Mary Dolan, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Entombment will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Dolan, who was born in Missoula, died Wednesday.
She was a 67-year Spokane resident and managed the Firestone Apartments on First Avenue.
Her husband, Terry, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Albina Farrace of Spokane; a sister, Marckita Morris of Stockton, Calif.; and a stepson, Mike Dolan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Edna (Schaefer) Kuehl Spokane
Funeral for Edna E. (Schaefer) Kuehl, 89, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash. Vault burial will follow at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Kuehl, who was born in Ritzville, died Thursday.
She grew up in Ritzville and attended school there.
She married John Poffenroth in 1931, and they moved to Colfax.
They later divorced, and she moved to Cheney. In 1938 she married Mayland Kuehl.
Mrs. Kuehl continued to lived in Cheney, before moving to Olympia for four years. She returned to Cheney and then moved to Spokane and Silver Lake before moving to St. John, Wash., in 1950.
Mrs. Kuehl was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1958, and she moved back to Spokane in 1959.
Survivors include two sons, Edwin Kuehl of Ellensburg and Henry Kuehl of Spokane; four daughters, Joanne Reynolds of Cheney, Lydia Price and Shirley Pickett, both of Spokane, and Donna Ward of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Gilbert Schaefer of Zillah, Wash., and John Schaefer of Spokane; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
Asa Duquet Spokane
Memorial service for Asa M. Duquet, 74, was Monday at Fairchild Air Force Base. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Born in Quincy, Mass., Mr. Duquet died Wednesday.
He enlisted in the military in 1945 and retired from the Air Force in 1965.
He was a 15-year resident of Spokane and had worked at the commissary at Fairchild Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Shannon; a stepdaughter, Dina Duquet of Spokane; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Duquet.
Elva Clouse Spokane
Visitation for Elva G. Clouse, 96, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Hills Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Clouse, who was born in Rock Lake, N.D., died Thursday.
She graduated in 1921 from Rock Lake High School and in 1925 married Royal Clouse.
She lived in Clayton, Wash., for 25 years before moving to Spokane.
A homemaker, Mrs. Clouse was a member of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church since 1972 and a member of the North Star Senior Center.
Her husband died in 1971.
Survivors include two sons, Donald and Robert Clouse, both of Spokane; two sisters, Goldie Jaeger and Ila Granlund, both of Spokane; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Shugrue Carmichael, Calif.
Vigil service for Eleanor Shugrue, 86, will be at 7 p.m. today at Mount St. Michael’s in Spokane. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount St. Michael’s. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shugrue, who was born in California, died Tuesday. She was a 17-year Spokane resident and recently moved to Carmichael to be closer to family.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mount St. Michael’s Church.
Her husband, John, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, James Shugrue of Lake View, Ore., John Shugrue of Woodland Hills, Calif., William Shugrue of Hampton, Calif., and Paul Shugrue of Camarillo, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Ann Nardecchia of Spokane; and two sisters, Frances Kagel and Madeline Jenks.
Kathleen Cornelius Spokane
Memorial service for Kathleen M. “Kay” Cornelius, a 68-year Spokane resident, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Bible Chapel. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cornelius, who was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., died May 6. She was 78.
She worked for the Armour Meat Packing Co. for 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Louis “Cal”; two sons, Wayne and Warren Wilson, both of Spokane; two daughters, Donna Schaaf of Spokane and Karen Smith of Chattaroy; a sister, Phyllis Day of Big Fork, Mont.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jack Stewart Spokane
Memorial service for Jack L. Stewart, 73, will be at 3 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mr. Stewart, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.
He married Jeanne Dixon in 1945.
Mr. Stewart worked as a general contractor in Missoula and Spokane for several years. He also raised and raced thoroughbred horses.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Musicians Union, Washington Horse Breeders Association and the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau.
He is survived by his wife.

Robert Meili Spokane
No service will be held for Robert A. Meili, 52, at his request. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Meili, who died May 7, was born in Jamestown, N.D.
He graduated from Shadle Park High School.
Mr. Meili served in the Army from 1968 to 1971.
He worked at Sylvan’s Furniture and then at Meili’s Truck Top and Accessory Center for 12 years.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Meili; three brothers, Russ Meili, Chuck Yost, and Dave Furman; and two sisters, Cindy Dick and Krista Meili-O’Dell.
