Water Projects Boosted By Grants

Local water projects earned $118,400 in loans and grants from the Idaho Water Resource Board on Friday.

The board approved a $2,467 grant and $103,933 loan for construction of a new water treatment plant for the Twenty-Mile Creek Water Association in Boundary County.

The board also approved an $11,000 increase in existing loans for water system improvements for the Midas Water Corporation in Garfield Bay on Lake Pend Oreille.

Also approved was a modified $194,575 loan with the Skin Creek Water Association in Boundary County to reflect two years of interest-only payments followed by a conversion to a full 15-year repayment schedule.

The board approved a total of $254,000 in loans. The Twenty-Mile Creek grant was the only grant in the state.
