LANDSCAPING

Experts on creating yards to attract wildlife will share their knowledge at the Backyard Bird and Plant Fair, scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday at Firwood Nursery in Deer Park.

Take guided tours of a naturalized landscape. Get advice from Spokane County extension and master gardener programs.

Enroll in the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department’s Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary Program and get birding tips from National Audubon Society members.

Everything from plants to bird seed will be on sale from various vendors.

The fair runs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.

From the north Division Y in Spokane, drive 14 miles north on Highway 395. Just south of Deer Park, turn west (left) onto Burroughs Road. Go 3 miles to Firwood Nursery.
