Telecommunications Featured At Edc’S Rally

Spokane’s growing telecommunications industry will be the focus of the Spokane Area Economic Development Council’s Fall Rally on Thursday.

The rally is 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Spokane Falls Community College Student Union Building, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive.

Keynote speakers include Tom Wilson, policy adviser for the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission; Terry Sticka, Northwest sales and systems engineering manager for Touch America; and J.R. Simmons, CEO of TMC Group.

All those attending the rally will be invited to briefly introduce their products and contribute their thoughts on how to build the industry locally.

There is no admission charge and the event is open to the public, but reservations are required. Call 624-9385 for reservations or more information.

Awards for “Building an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow” (BEST) will be presented to five Spokane-area businesses.
