Voter Turnout Could Top 80%
Judy Manning said she didn’t mind standing in line, on crutches, for a half hour before she could vote at the Women’s Club at 8th and Walnut.
“That’s OK. This is the way it should be,” she said.
Across town at Stevens Elementary School, poll worker Myrtle Troop said she hadn’t seen crowds so big in 30 years.
Spokane County elections officials said turnout was consistently ahead of the last presidential election and could top 80 percent when all absentees are counted.
