Auction Will Benefit Camp Spalding

Whitworth Presbyterian Church will host its sixth annual auction to benefit Camp Spalding, which is run by the Presbyterian Church. The auction is Saturday at the church, located at 312 W. Hawthorne Road.

The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m., with oral bidding following. Items up for bid include vacation packages, sports equipment, power tools and art work. Specific examples include a ski vacation to Brundage Mountain and a weekend in Seattle with courtside tickets to a Seattle Supersonics games.

The last auction raised about $18,000, and proceeds from this year’s event will be used to build a giant water slide for youth. Tickets are $16 per person and reservations must be made by calling (800) 566-1155.

Bazaar events

St. David’s Episcopal Church is planning a two-part extravaganza Saturday to help pay for its new organ. The church doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a traditional bazaar featuring crafts, baked goods and Christmas items.

The church also will host a dinner and auction beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday. Several theme baskets will be auctioned off in silent and oral bidding during the evening. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 or at the door for $6.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic

Church will host its annual fall festival and bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event includes baked goods, crafts, collectibles and more. A beer garden will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 4220 N. Jefferson.

Turkey dinner and bazaar Saturday

Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport, will launch its bazaar at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. A turkey dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for kids age 6-12 and $1.50 for kids under 6.
