Hearing Set For Hospital Construction Projects
Two major construction projects are under consideration by Sacred Heart Medical Center, and the public is being invited to comment on how they could affect traffic.
A meeting is scheduled for next Thursday at 7 p.m. in Conference Room A of the Providence Auditorium, 20 W. Ninth.
Sacred Heart has applied to build a new west wing to the hospital on 0.6 acres of land near Seventh and McClellan.
The medical center also is seeking city approval to build a new Pathology Associates Medical Laboratory on 1.4 acres northwest of the corner of Cliff and Grand.
City law requires developers of new projects to meet with area residents to talk about the project and its potential impacts. The goal is to get developers to address neighborhood concerns in the pre-development phase of projects.
Next week’s meeting will specifically address traffic issues in the busy north-south arterial corridor, which includes Grand Boulevard, Ninth Avenue, McClellan Street and Seventh Avenue.
