Officials at the county Health Department hope the bulk of its flu vaccine will arrive next week. Due to a delay in receiving the vaccine, flu clinics in Lind and Washtucna have been moved to Nov. 20.
Ferry County Republic
It looks like nobody wants to be Ferry County’s public defender. The county commissioners received no bids for public defender services at their latest meeting. The current public defender contract expires Dec. 31.
Grant County Moses Lake
Local potato growers are looking north with more than a little resentment. Canadian potato farmers, helped by tariffs on American products, have a distinct trade advantage, farmers say. Local spudsmen are steaming that this past year, the U.S. imported more frozen French fries than it shipped abroad - a first. The weak Canadian dollar makes the north-of-the-border product more attractive to major restaurant chains.
Lincoln County Wilbur
The Wilbur Register is alerting all county subscribers that their new Enhanced-911 addresses must be in effect by Dec. 1 to continue receiving their paper. Rural residents used rural route and box number addresses until last year, when installation of E-911 forced folks to go to numbered road addresses. The post office gave folks one year to make the change.

A public meeting on parking and traffic changes at the duck pond at Manito Park will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Woodland Center at Finch Arboretum. Parks officials will show the latest compromise design for a new parking lot and changes in traffic circulation.
