Analysis

Pretend Jon Kitna catches fire. Imagine Ricky Watters rambles for 100 yards. Assume the receivers suddenly become sticky-fingered. Would it be enough for the Seahawks to overcome their defense? In this game, probably not. Jacksonville hasn’t been a juggernaut, but it won’t have to be. The Jags run it OK with Fred Taylor, but more importantly they throw it just fine behind Mark Brunell and one of the NFL’s best receiving tandems of Keenan McCardell and Jimmy Smith. The Seahawks picked the wrong week to have a beat up secondary - cornerback Willie Williams has a neck stinger and safety Kerry Joseph a bruised sternum. Jacksonville’s receivers are tall and talented. Jaguars 31, Seahawks 17.
