Area Scouts Achieve Highest Scouting Rank

The following Inland Northwest area residents recently achieved the the highest ranking in the Boy Scouts of America:

Izac Enrique Ossiander and Shawn Jay Ossiander, members of Boy Scout Troop 393, have achieved Eagle Scout rank.

They are the sons of Neal and Maria Ossiander of Spokane.

Izac’s service project consisted of cleaning and painting the Fellowship Hall at Heritage Congregational Church and the Youth Group room.

Shawn’s service project consisted of cleaning and painting preschool and Sunday school classrooms plus the school hallway at Heritage Congregational Church.

Aaron (A.J.) Falk and Andrew Supinger, members of Davenport Boy Scout Troop 764, have achieved Eagle Scout.

Falk constructed an Indian head sports championship board that is placed on Reardan’s west end, facing rival Davenport. He is the son of Brad and Marlene Falk, Reardan, Wash.

Supinger’s service project involved supervising the construction and installation of three picnic tables for the Reardan City Park. He is a 2000 graduate of Reardan High School and is the son of Jeff and Miriam Supinger, Reardan.

Scott Broyles, a member of Boy Scout Troop 448, has attained Eagle Scout. His service project was designing and supervising the construction of a percussion platform for the Central Valley Pep Band that adapts to either the football bleachers or gym seating.

Broyles is a 2000 graduate of Central Valley High School and the son of Jeff and Shirley Broyles.

Kenny Rutherford is a member of Chewelah (Wash.) Boy Scout Troop 998 and has reached Eagle Scout rank. His service project entailed priming and painting the new portion of the Senior Citizen Hall in Chewelah.

Rutherford is a 2000 graduate of Jenkins High School and the son of Greg and Laura Rutherford.

Sarah Hays, a member of Senior Girl Scout Troop 120, has recently earned a Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouts.

Her service project involved sewing and donating infant items to the Childbirth and Parenting Alone Program at St. Anne’s Children and Family Center.

Hays is a senior at Central Valley High School and is the daughter of Shelley and Rose Hays.
