Women’S Regional Has Support
Tickets sales for the NCAA West Regional women’s basketball tournament are going “exceptionally well,” said Amy Brown, assistant general manager of the Spokane Arena.
“We’re inching up to 4,000 packages sold,” Brown said. “It’s a good indication of how successful this tournament is going to be in Spokane.”
The event, which will bring four schools to the Arena for the round of 16 and quarterfinal games, is March 24 and 26. The regional winner will compete in the Final Four in St. Louis on March 30 and April 1.
Tickets are being sold as packages for the two-day competition. As a bonus, fans who put in orders for women’s tickets will have the opportunity to purchase a maximum of two tickets per order for the NCCA men’s first- and second-round games scheduled for March 2003.
As a prelude to the West Regional, Washington State is holding its annual tournament at the Arena this year. The seating chart will be the same as it will be for the regional.
The Hayden Homes Cougar Shootout is Dec. 8-9. The Idaho Vandals, Portland Pilots and Toledo Rockets will fill out the field.
Idaho and Toledo will play at 6 p.m. Dec. 8, followed by WSU vs. Portland. The consolation game will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 9, followed by the championship.
Tickets to the NCAA West Regional and Cougar Shootout are on sale at the Arena box office, online at www.ticketswest.com, at all G&B Select-A-Seat locations, or by calling 1-800-325-SEAT.
The price for a Cougars Shootout two-day, four-game ticket package is $10 for adults, $6 for youths and seniors. One-day, two-game prices are $7 and $4. WSU students get in free with a valid WSU ID card.
West Regional packages range in price from $19 to $39.
