Project CDA not a school full of bad kids
I am a female senior at Project CDA, “The Best School Ever.” I know this sounds like I am writing to brag about my school, but I am not. I am writing to defend the Coeur d’Alene School District’s alternative school.
It has come to my attention that when people hear the name “Project,” they automatically think, “Oh, that bad kid school.”
It is not a bad school. It is not a school for losers. It is not a reject school. It is not a slacker school, and it is not a stupid-kid school. Project is a special school to me and the many other students who attend it.
This school has given students who have lost hope in ever making it somewhere in life a chance to see that they can succeed. The staff at this school is wonderful. They honestly care about every one of us.
I know if I wouldn’t have been accepted into this life-saving school, I would not be a graduating senior, I would be a high school drop-out. I am a senior today, not because Project is the easy way out as some people think, but because the staff believed, and still believe, in me.
At Project, the students aren’t just students and the teachers aren’t just teachers. We all are one big family who are in no way ready to let anyone go down the wrong path.
All I am asking from those who have your mind set on thinking of Project in a negative way, is to give us and the school a chance. I promise you, you won’t regret it. Adrian Rodriguez Coeur d’Alene
