Lindeblad Opens Senior Qualifying With 3-Under 69
Indian Canyon pro Gary Lindeblad of Spokane shot a 69 on Tuesday and is tied for 11th after the first day of the Senior PGA Tour national qualifying tournament. Lindeblad’s round, played on the Bonnet Creek Golf Club’s Eagles Pines course, included five birdies, 11 pars and two bogeys.
The leader is Bill Holstead, who shot a 10-under-par 62 and has a five-stroke lead.
Holstead, 54, a manufacturer’s representative for a brick company in Wichita, Kan., had an eagle and eight birdies.
Lindeblad is in a group of 14 at 69.
The low 16 finishers in the 72-hole event will receive 2001 tour cards, with the top eight getting full exemptions.
A cut will be made after the second round today at the low 70 scores plus ties in the field of 110 golfers.
