Men’S Basketball
WSU at Idaho
Time: 7 p.m.
Radio: KXLY 920-AM
Summary: These teams are both coming off weekend losses. The Cougars (1-1) lost 78-64 to Colorado State at the Spokane Arena. Idaho fell 92-42 at Gonzaga.
For the Vandals (1-2), turning things around begins with better shot selection and making the shots when they get them. Idaho hit only 30 percent of its shots from the floor against Gonzaga. Also look for Idaho to penetrate more, press the action and try and get to the free-throw line.
Junior forward Matt Gerschefske leads Idaho in scoring with 12 points per game.
The Cougars need better execution on the offensive end, especially when the game is close. Washington State failed to score from the field in the final 6:33 against CSU. Before that drought, the game was up for grabs. David Adams has been the most consistent scoring threat. The sophomore guard is averaging 15 ppg.
The Cougars have won three straight against the Vandals and six of the last seven meetings.
