State Champs Still On Top

Three defending state champions remain undefeated and continue to sit atop their respective rankings in The Idaho Spokesman-Review polls.

Centennial (6-0) continues to lead A-1 Division I. The team it defeated in the state final last year, Highland (6-0), remains in second. This is the first year that the teams haven’t scheduled each other since 1995.

Defending A-1 Division II champ Vallivue (5-0) has all but clinched the top playoff seed in the Boise area. The Falcons, who edged Skyview 14-13 earlier, have remaining games against lowerdivision teams: Timberline, Nampa, Boise and Caldwell.

Lake City (4-1) moved out of a third-place tie with Sandpoint into second with its 29-19 win over Coeur d’Alene. The Viks and Sandpoint are tied for third.

Snake River (5-0), the two-time defending A-2 champ, is on pace to capture a third straight title.
