Spalding no eyesore!

I am appalled at the recent article regarding Spalding Auto Parts (Sept. 28 Valley Voice).

Obviously “eyesore” is the only word in your reporter’s vocabulary!

Do you have any idea what they do at Spalding?

They are one of the best-run businesses in Spokane.

They serve a very important purpose in our community and do more for the environment than most of Spokane!

If anyone were to visit Spalding and count the customers going to Imports, Domestics or Pull-N-Save, they would be truly amazed! On a Saturday, Pull-N-Save itself has 500 to 700 people through its doors.

I have to wonder why the people who drive I-90 have such a problem with them?

If you don’t like it, don’t look at it. Besides, if you’re driving, shouldn’t you be watching the road and the other traffic so you can avoid an accident and not end up at Spalding?

I see stuff along I-90 that offends me a lot more than Spalding. In fact, I think every neighborhood in Spokane has a house that looks a lot worse then Spalding!

Why should Spalding Auto Parts be expected to do anything about the way certain individuals feel about them?

The people with the raunchy yards along the freeway do not do anything about their yards just because I think they are an “eyesore.”

What if I thought the Spokane Valley Mall to be an “eyesore”? Should I expect them to place a tree screen and become invisible? Sheila A. Buelow Spokane
