Win Earns Lakeside Playoff Spot
The Lakeside Knights made sure they won the one regular season football game that counted.
The Knights (4-3) beat the Wallace Miners 18-6 in a game of A-3 independants in Plummer.
The teams, the only independents in District 1, had Friday night’s game circled on their calendar, as the winner would get a shot at the playoffs.
Lakeside will play the No. 2 team out of District 2 in three weeks. Lakeside, which has already doubled last season’s win total, was led on both sides of the ball by Justin Hendrickx and Leonard Johnson.
Hendrickx rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries, scored two touchdowns and racked up 11 tackles playing linebacker.
Johnson piled up 88 yards, scored once, had 11 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
