Coleman claims its new 2-1/2-foot long cooler, the “Extreme,” can keep ice for five days.

In a recent field test conducted by California outdoor writer Tom Stienstra, three bags of ice were placed in the Extreme, and four bags of ice were placed in an Igloo-brand Cool Roller. Canned sodas were added to both coolers.

After four days, the ice had melted in the Igloo and the drinks were sitting in water.

After seven days in the Extreme, the ice had melted about 75 percent and the drinks were still ice-cold.
