Coeur D’Alene Bible Hosts Dinner Theater
Chet Bitterman, his wife and family were in Bogota, Columbia, in 1981 as Wycliffe Missionaries. On Jan. 19 of that year Chet was taken from his family by gunpoint by people believed to be a part of the Columbian terrorist organization, M-19. An ultimatum was given a few days later: All Wycliffe Bible Translators were to leave Columbia immediately or Chet would be killed.
Bitterman’s wife, Brenda, and the Wycliffe staff faced a terrible decision. If they left the country, Chet’s life might be spared, but by leaving they would give the guerillas a powerful stronghold which would set a precedent for terrorist kidnappings worldwide.
Bitterman’s story “Martyred” is being told in this country and Canada in the form of a dinner theater, presented by Wycliffe. Coeur d’Alene Bible Church will host the theater at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 and at noon Nov. 4.
The play is not suitable for youth under 13 years old. A nursery will be provided for children 3 and under. Reservations are suggested, call 664-4883.

Pastor P. Brian Noble was officially installed as the senior pastor at Falls Christian Assembly Church last Sunday by Pastor Tom Ridout, from the Northwest District Assembly of God.
Pastor Noble is replacing Pastor Dale Smith, who resigned in February. The church accepted Noble in August and he began his service in September.
Noble was raised in Grandview, Wash., in the Yakima Valley, and moved from Deer Park, where he was an associate pastor for three years.
“God’s word is the standard we need to go by. I felt God had called me to this church,” Noble said. “It’s a family ministry looking to help people who are seeking God.”
As part of his new position, he serves as spiritual overseer at Falls Christian Academy, an outreach of the church.
He and his wife of three years, Tanya, have a 1-year old son named Isaiah.
