Works as a substitute teacher for District 81, Valley school districts and Freeman School District. Served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 and 1976 to 1995. Quality control chemist in Indianapolis and northern Ohio from 1969 to 1975.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from University of Indianapolis. Teacher certification from Eastern Washington University in 1997.

Political history

First run for public office. Active in the Democratic Party since returning to Spokane in 1995. Volunteer for Tommy Flynn’s congressional campaign before announcing his own bid for office.
